From Victoria Beckham to Boohoo

When Victoria Beckham stepped out in what appeared to be a four man tent last year, I'm not going to lie, at first, I really didn't like it. As a hardcore Posh spice fan that was hard for me to type.  But, the more I look at it the more it grows on me in its own weird way.  I am however loving the way that the high street is taking inspiration from Mrs B's creation and producing far more wearable and figure flattering pieces with dropped hems.

This Boohoo dress is a perfect example. It’s not half as baggy as the Victoria Beckham dress and the front is still short enough to show off a bit of leg.  Whether you're a fan or not, at £20 it’s a designer style steal!

Pinterest Inspiration

All images from Pinterest

I’ve had a Pinterest account for a while now, but haven’t really used it to its full advantage as a place to store all the things I find whilst browsing the Internet. Instead I write endless lists about where I’ve seen clothes I want to buy, or looks I love, which normally results in me losing said list and forgetting everything! So, I’ve decided to use Pinterest more and have recently been browsing and repining some street style looks to get some inspiration for LFW outfits.  Here are a few of the looks I currently love and I’m already working out how I can recreate some of them for fashion week!

Pink Primark Jumper,Topshop Joni Jeans, Nelly Valentino rockstud shoes, H&M Snakeprint bag

Pink jumper, Primark (in store now) | White shirt worn underneath, H&M | Jeans, Primark | Necklace, Primark | Shoes, Nelly | Bag, H&M

You certainly don’t need me to tell you that pink is the colour to be seen in right now, it’s everywhere! The good news is that your pink pieces are going to last well into next season with pastels being a big trend for SS14.  I purchased this pink Primark jumper a while ago and have been wearing it to death ever since.  One of my favourite things to do at the moment is to layer up shirts and jumpers and I’ve been wearing this one with a plain white shirt underneath and adding this pink necklace for some detail. I’ve also been pairing it with a pair of black jeans and heels for work, just to make it slightly more formal. If you’re wanting to update your wardrobe with a splash of pink then an £8 pink Primark jumper is definitely an affordable way to do to it!

The Best... Slip-ons

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 |

There’s no denying that the slip-on is the ‘must have’ shoe of the moment thanks to the designers at Celine and Givenchy.  As much as I love a good pair of heels, for a tall gal like me it’s music to my ears when a flat shoe is deemed fashionable! And not to mention a relief for my poor heel battered feet. Therefore I’m definitely going to rinse this trend for all it’s worth, so expect a hell of a lot of slip-on ‘ness’ on the blog over the next few months.

There are some good designer lookalikes appearing in the shops at the moment and here is my pick of the best shoes to buy this season.  A big round of applause to Topshop who have produced these checked beauty’s, which are so Celine it's ridiculous.  It’s safe to say I ordered a pair as soon as I saw them and I recommend you do the same before they sell out!

The Bargain Coat

Coat, Principles by Ben De Lisi at Debenhams | Bag, Forever21 (old)  | Tshirt, Primark | Pleather Trousers, Topshop | Shoes, Bertie available at John Lewis

I’m not a big fan of sale shopping and have never been one of those people who wake up at the crack of dawn on Boxing Day to hit the shops.  I did have a look online, but nothing really caught my eye and anything that did was already sold out in my size! Due to being ill over Christmas I didn’t actually get to go shopping until Saturday and most of the decent stuff was gone.  I did however manage to find this gorgeous grey and pink checked coat in Debenhams and luckily enough it was in my size! It was reduced from £99 down to £29.70, which I think is a bit of a bargain. I wore it yesterday with my Topshop pleather trousers, a plain white t-shirt and my Bertie slip-ons.

Did anyone else snap up any bargains in the sales?

What I got for Christmas

Remington AC5011 Pearl Pro Ionic AC Hair Dryer | Bertie Putney Slip-ons | fcuk friction Perfume | YSL Elle Perfume | Lush Snow Fairy | L'Oreal Lash Telescopic Mascara | Bare Mineral Medium Tan Foundation & Bare Minerals Warmth | Body brush | Marc by Marc Jacobs Gold Truman Watch | H Samuels Gold Knot earrings | Topshop & Zara Gift Cards

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas break. My first post of 2014 is a little later then I intended it to be, but my blogging plans got completely thrown out the window over Christmas due to being struck down with the flu. Then, when I finally recovered, I couldn’t take any outfit pictures because of the horrendous weather. Seriously, is it summer yet?

So, I thought I would do a quick post to show everyone some of the lovely presents I got for Christmas. Now I’m pushing 25 Christmas is less about the presents and more about enjoying some well deserved time off work with my friends and family. However, that’s not to say I wasn’t completely overwhelmed when I opened this gorgeous Marc by Marc Jacobs watch from my boyfriend - the boy did good. I’m also in love with my new Celine inspired Bertie slip-ons, which are so comfortable I never want to take them off!  I got the usual make-up, perfume and smelly stuff, including the amazing Snow Fairy by Lush which is literally the best thing I've ever smelt!
