Prodigy Red

Pleather top*, Prodigy Red
Jeans, Zara
Necklace, Primark
Blazer, Topshop
Shoes, Nelly sold out

I’ve been meaning to post about this top the lovely people at Prodigy Red sent me for a while now, but with LFW and being ridiculously busy these last few weeks it simply slipped my mind. The top has a wet look to it and is definitely a more comfortable and cheaper alternative to a real leather top. The leather look is a big trend for AW13 and Prodigy Red have some great (and cheap) ways to buy in to the trend. I’ve styled this top with my favourite Zara jeans and this amazing Primark statement necklace, which I want to put with everything at the moment! I like that together, with a pair of heels, the top dresses up the jeans, but I’m also looking forward to pairing it with my black leather skirt for a head to toe gothic look.

I know I’m still relatively new to blogging, but I definitely haven’t been posting as much as I’d like to recently. I’ve got so many posts I want to do, but I’m currently in the last stage of my CIPR Advanced Certificate course writing a 3,000 word essay which is taking up most of my spare time! Once I hand that in I’m definitely going to dedicate more time to blogging and get in to a routine of posting, so bear with me!

Hope everyone’s having a good week.

The Topshop Tube Skirt

Hurray! I’ve finally found a black skirt that's actually suitable for work. Now, this probably doesn’t sound like a big deal to you guys, but I’ve been searching for one for ages now. All the black skirts I currently own or have come across in the shops have either been too inappropriate for the office or just the wrong fit.  So, you can imagine my joy when I tried this one on in Oxford Circus last weekend and it fitted perfectly. I actually have my mum to thank for finding it and forcing me to try it on because, I’m not going to lie, it didn’t look all that on the hanger! How wrong I was.

Cropped jumper, Primark (current)
Double layer tube skirt, Topshop
Shoes, Nelly (sold out)
Necklace, Primark Limited Edition (current)
Bag, H&M (similar here)

The skirt had its first outing on Tuesday when I wore it to work with this cropped black fluffy jumper and a statement necklace. I couldn’t take any pictures on Tuesday though as a) the weather was horrendous and b) I basically didn’t have time as I rushed to the gym after work. I finally managed to grab some today so, here they are.

Hope everyone’s having a good weekend J

My favourite A/W Coats

Ok, so I seemed to have missed the memo about skipping autumn and going straight into winter this year?! It’s been ridiculously cold this week and I can’t cope with the sudden drop in temperatures. I just want to live in my onesie and never get out of bed! But, unfortunately, like everyone else, I can't do that.  So, I guess it’s time to face the cold reality, embrace the dark months of winter and invest in a winter coat before all the good ones are gone! I’ve been searching the internet the last few days to try and decide which coat to buy and the biggest dilemma I’m faced with is do I buy classic grey or black, or some trendy windowpane checks? I want both arghh!!  There are so many nice coats on the high street at the moment and here are some of my favourites.

1. Black Check Oversized Coat, £59.99 New Look
2. Biker Style Coat, £59.99 H&M
3. Checked Biker Coat, £139 M&S
4. Colour Block Biker Coat, £89 M&S
5. Faux Fur Collar Coat, £95 Warehouse
6. Orange Biker Coat, £85 River Island
7. Long Tartan Duster Coat, £145 Urban Outfitters
8.  Red Check Wool Coat, £43.28 Choies
 9. Wollen Wrap Around Coat, £89 Zara

LFW - Monday

As the weather was so horrendous on Saturday, I decided to head back down to Somerset House yesterday to see what was going on.  It rained on and off all day, which was extremely annoying, but when it wasn’t raining, everyone quickly came out of hiding to take photos and observe some LFW street style.

No one could quite believe that my entire outfit was from Primark, so it was nice seeing the look on people’s faces when I told them. The shoes are a great copy of the Zara heels that have been in store the last couple of seasons and a bargain at £12!! I did massively regret not taking fashion week flats with me though and my feet were killing by the time I got the train home.

LFW

After a 6am start yesterday and a 3am finish this morning, it’s safe to say I’m knackered! Not to mention my poor feet :( The Zoe Jordan show was at 9am, which meant me and my mum had to get up bright and early to catch the train, but it was definitely worth it.

Zoe Jordan’s SS14 collection was all about the grown up skater girl ‘a rebellious spirited youth, now polished with an elegant edge’ and the catwalk was full of energetic and handcrafted garments covered in graffiti prints and disorderly doodles. As the press release states, the colour palette kickflips the city-scape from glowing atomic red to hard slate steel and cooling ice blue which resulted in a combination of beautiful clean lines.  Below are my favourite looks.

The Vodafone VIP treatment was great and the staff were fantastic however, after no breakfast and two glasses of Bucks Fizz I was feeling a little lightheaded by time we sat down to watch the show! It was raining quite heavily after the show finished so we hung around Somerset House for a while, but not wanting to get soaked, decided to head to Oxford Street for some shopping.
