The £12 dress

As I mentioned yesterday I managed to grab this dress from Florence & Fred at Tesco for just £12! I normally don't spend much time looking around the clothing sections at supermarkets, but in recent years they seem to have upped their game.

I love the zig-zag monochrome pattern (which actually hurts your eyes if you stare at it for too long!) and the slightly padded boxy shoulders. I will probably wear this dress to work with bare legs and my Nelly heels whilst it’s warmer and pair it with tights and a blazer during the winter.  I would also combine it with my Zara roll down clutch if I was going to a business event or lunch, but it definitely isn’t big enough for everyday use with the amount of rubbish I insist on carrying to the office!

M&S, AW13 collection

Marks & Spencer probably isn't the first shop you think of going to when you want to buy the new season's hottest trends - well I didn't anyway! I normally only go in to M&S when I want to do two things 1. grab some lunch or 2. use it as a shortcut on my way to work, so I was pleasantly surprised when I spotted the new AW13 collection in store at the weekend.

I've seen countless pictures of the new collection online, but with the UK only just beginning to experience a bit of sunshine, coats and woolly jumpers were the last thing on my mind. That was until last Saturday when I woke up hoping to work on my tan, but was instead greeted with rain, thunder AND lightening when I opened my blinds -  so long summer!

With tanning no longer an option I decided to accompany my Mum down the road to the shops which includes Tesco, Next and M&S. Strolling through M&S I was greeted with the new collection and instantly fell in love with several pieces from the Limited Collection range, in particular the cosy knitted jumpers and big wool coats.

These are my top five pieces:

Checked jumper £35

Block skinny jumper £35

Quilted mini skirt £29.50

Faux leather top £35

Daisy print shift dress £39.50

Apart from a few splashes of red here and there the pieces I saw were very much focused on the monochrome trend which is set to last long into the winter months.

Here are a few of my favourite images from the AW13 lookbook.

On another note I also managed to grab a £12 monochrome dress from Tesco which I will post tomorrow.
