M&S Secret Santa

I'm a big fan of M&S so I was delighted when I recently received an email asking me if i wanted to take part in their Secret Santa challenge.  I was given another blogger to buy for and had to pick something up to the value of £20 and they had to do the same for me.  I started by browsing the blog of the person I was buying for and immediately noticed that she loved jewellery, so I decided to pick something from the M&S Jewellery collection.  After some searching and deliberating, I finally picked this Geometric Bee Pendant for her as I loved the detail on it!

I saw on instagram that my blogger had received her gift and the very next day I also received mine. We must both think the same because I also received jewellery in the form of this  gorgeous Sleek Metal Plait necklace (£17.50).

If you're looking for the perfect Secret Santa present this Christmas, or if you are just struggling to buy for someone, I would definitely recommend browsing the Secret Santa section of the M&S website as well as the Gifts for Her, Jewellery and Beauty sections, as there is so much to choose from.

Has anyone else had to buy any Secret Santa presents this Christmas?

ghd eclipse event

Last Friday I was lucky enough to join Tamara from the Glam & Glitter at the ghd studio in London for a demonstration of the new eclipse styler

Now, I’m normally one of those people who carry an umbrella in their bag just in case it rains, but I failed miserably to remember one on Friday and got absolutely soaked walking from the tube station to the ghd studio. All I can is good job I was going to a hair styling event because my barnet needed some serious work by the time I got there! After everyone had dried off ghd’s head stylist, Jo Robertson, gave us a demonstration of the new eclipse styler and told us a little bit about how it differs from the other ghd models. Needless to say it left everyone wanting to get their hands on a pair!

After a Q&A we finally got the chance to have our hair styled and could choose from a menu with five different options. If none of them took our fancy then the stylist’s were more than happy to style our hair how we wanted. I went for some winter waves and Jo taught me how to get the perfect waves with a wide toothcomb, something I went out and purchased immediately the next day. The trick is to curl your hair with the styler then, when it’s cooled, coomb your hair with the wide toothcomb and push the ends upwards to get the perfect party waves. There’s also some great videos on the ghd website to help you get party perfect looks including this great ‘Party blow-dry’ video

Thank you to ghd, Shine PR and Tamara for a great night! I’m now desperate to get my hands on the eclipse styler! You can buy it here.

My Favourite Party Dresses

Favourite Party Dresses

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 |

We are well and truly into December and Christmas and NYE are fast approaching! With that in mind I thought I would show you my eight favourite party dresses that are in the shops at the moment. I’ve had my eye on the sequined River Island dress for a few weeks now, but as I mentioned in this post last week I’m trying my hardest to recycle some old party dresses this year!  Also, how gorgeous is that Topshop Skater dress?! It's definitely the perfect dress for NYE.  Ohhhhh, just one more dress won't hurt, will it?!

Christmas Wishlist

Christmas Wishlist

Ok first of all, how have I only just discovered Polyvore!? It’s such a good website for creating wish list’s as it lets you search for items from all over the internet and lay them out into a template before adding text and shapes.  I would definitely recommended taking a look at the website if you haven’t already. So, what am I wishing for this Christmas? Well Christmas is the perfect time of year to stock up on some of your favourite items and like most girls my list consists of make-up, perfume and jewellery. However, as I’ve been an extremely good girl this year, there are also a couple of extra special items I’m wishing for. Including these gorgeous Bertie slip-ons and a Michael Kors Selma bag, which I’ve been lusting after ever since I laid my eyes on it in Orlando in October. I’m now also desperate to get my hands on the new ghd eclipse styler after I attended the ghd event last night with Tamara from the Glam & Glitter. I will post about the event another time, but all you need to know is that the new styler is amazing, and a godsend for people who have thick and unruly hair, like me!

What are you all wishing for this Christmas?

It's Party Season...

Dress - Topshop (old)
Similar dresses here, here and here
Shoes - Zara (old)

If you follow me on Instagram (if you don't you can follow me here) you would have seen me post a couple of pictures of this dress earlier this week.  This Topshop glittery number is my go to dress every December when the party season arrives and it's actually about three years old now! I love the fact that even though it has a high neckline and long sleeves it still feels dressy because of the low open back. The specs of glitter just add the perfect amount of sparkle and it always seems to fit perfect year after year (as long as I avoid the mince pies beforehand!)

A few years ago I went through a bit of a 'dress obsessed' stage where I bought every dress in sight. This has now resulted in my owning a whole spare wardrobe full of dresses that I hardly ever wear. So, I promised myself I would work hard to try and recycle them as much as I can and resist buying a new dress for every occasion.  The black Zara lingerie dress I just bought doesn't count, does it?!...... I need help!
